Meta Quest 3 is coming this fall

There are indications that Meta's Quest 3 VR headset may become available for purchase soon. A recently surfaced Meta-manufactured VR headset has appeared in the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) database, suggesting that the device is now eligible for sale in the US.

Although the FCC label on this headset does not explicitly mention "Quest 3," there are compelling reasons to believe that this listing corresponds to the Quest 3. Meta has already announced the Quest 3 and promised to reveal more details about the device during its September Connect event. Additionally, the positioning of the FCC label on this new headset closely resembles that of the Quest 2. This alignment strengthens the likelihood that the headset in question is indeed the Quest 3.

From the FCC filings, one notable improvement we can deduce is that the new Quest 3 headset will support Wi-Fi 6E.

In the FCC's database, two handheld controllers manufactured by Meta have made an appearance, as noted by UploadVR in July. These controllers are strongly believed to be the new Touch Plus controllers for the Quest 3. Meta has already disclosed that the Touch Plus controllers will have a distinct design compared to the ones accompanying the Quest 2, and they won't include the outer tracking rings. Additionally, the Touch Plus controllers will feature Meta's "TruTouch" haptic technology, which is also present in the Meta Quest Pro's Touch Pro controllers.

During the announcement of the Quest 3, Meta mentioned that there will be further details shared at the Meta Connect event on September 27th, and the device is expected to be shipped in the fall. Fans are eagerly hoping for a concrete release date to be revealed during the event.
